Partial support counts as half a point. It’s a rough shape of scope, not a quality score. Plenty of apps do fewer things better.

01

A free coach in your headphones

Nike Run Club got one big thing very right: it doesn’t just record your run, it talks you through it. Guided runs with real coaches and athletes, training plans that build towards a 5k or a marathon, and challenges to chase, all for free. For a lot of people it’s the reason they started running at all.

Navilo Health tracks runs, walks and rides too. You get a live map, distance, pace, splits, a speed chart and calories burned, plus optional pace cues while you move. Then the session lands in the same history as the rest of your day.

02

The best free guided runs there are

The coaching content is the reason to install it. Nobody else on our comparison page gives away audio-coached sessions and structured multi-week plans at this quality for nothing. If you want a voice telling you when to push and when to ease off, NRC is the best free option there is.

It’s also polished and social in a low-pressure way: challenges, milestones and a clean history of your runs. If running is the whole goal, we would happily point you there.

03

Running is one hour of your day

Nike Run Club only knows about running. No food logging, no photo scanning, no macros, no barcode scanner, no meal plans. So the question everyone asks after a hard run, did dinner undo it, has no answer inside the app, and the calories-burned number has nothing to sit against.

It’s also silent on the rest of your health: no sleep tracking, no fasting timer, no walks or rides tracked as their own thing, no AI coach reading your week as a whole. Most runners end up with NRC plus a calorie app plus a sleep app, none of which compare notes.

Navilo puts them in one place. A run comes back with a map, splits and pace, sitting in the same day as the meals that fuelled it. Sleep sits beside your snacking, the fasting timer and water share the dashboard, and the coach can point at the real reason a week went well or badly. A streak freeze stops one busy day from undoing the habit. NRC costing nothing is hard to argue with, but bolting a calorie tracker, a sleep app and a fasting timer onto it rarely stays free, and we start free and cover those already.

04

Runners first, or health overall

Running is the point, and guided sessions are what get you out the door. The coaching content is excellent and costs nothing.

You run, but you also eat, sleep and sometimes fast, and you would rather track all of it, with a coach reading it, in one free app.

Nike Run Club questions, answered

Should I swap Nike Run Club for Navilo Health?

Yes, if you want more than running. Navilo tracks runs, walks and rides with GPS, with a map, splits, pace and calories, and adds AI photo food logging, an AI coach, sleep, fasting, workouts and water. Nike Run Club is running only.

Which app has the better running experience?

Nike Run Club, for guided runs. Its audio-coached sessions and multi-week training plans are excellent and free. Navilo gives you a clean map, splits, pace, a speed chart, calorie burn and pace coaching cues, without the guided-run library.

Does Nike Run Club track food or calories eaten?

No. It estimates calories burned on a run but has no food logging, photo scanning or macros, so it can’t tell you whether you ate back the run. Navilo shows both sides in one day.

What is Nike Run Club better at?

Guided running content. The audio coaching, structured training plans and free challenges will get you out the door, and cost nothing, which is hard to beat if running is your focus.
